Storyline

John Wick is a mob hit man who, upon falling in love, quits. 5 years later, his wife dies and to make sure he’s not alone she arranges for a dog to be brought to him after her death. Later, some men wanting his car break in and beat him up and kill his dog. When he recovers, he sets to get the ones who killed his dog. He learns that the leader is the son of his former employer. And the man wanting to protect his son, tries to take care of Wick but he’s still as good as he was. Written by rcs0411@yahoo.com (sic)

It is my firm belief that Keanu Reeves, for whatever reason, has gotten a bad rap concerning his performances. I have seen quite a few movies he’s been in, and don’t think he’s been that bad. He does better than Dolph Lundgren, in my opinion. I would watch Reeves over Sylvester Stallone any day. As I said, “…in my opinion.”

Now,John Wick is a definite “must watch” for lovers of movies likeThe Transporter” (trailer), “Taken” (trailer), even300” (trailer), except the action doesn’t slow before a strike. Too often.

The best part about this flick? It actually starts at the end, then goes into a flashback to tell how everything came to pass. So, I don’t have to worry about being to blame from the people who consider a movie ruined if they know the ending.

If one were to look at the possibilities of actually accomplishing the moves and one man conquering over numerous odds, the movie would come off as unbelievable. However, this is fiction, not based on actual events. People should realize the fictional stories are for imagining the possibilities, not relaying real actions or situations. So, relax and enjoy the rising body count.

Now, I know I said I would post a review, and this post is a sorry excuse for one, but (I’m almost ashamed to admit) this has been in my draft que for a couple of weeks. I need to publish it so someone can decide to watch the movie despite Keanu being in it.

I still think he’s gotten a bum rap, and I’m not sure why. Give this movie a shot. Judge for yourself, and let us (me and all the committee members ‘twixt my ears) know your opinions in the comment box below.
